Geode 3_Container

The gravity of cast zinc, the beveled ridge design of the lid allow both the bottom and the lid to be used as storage. The outer layer is hand-polished and the inner layer is hand-coated at low temperature. The rounded and simple shape can be used for storing daily life objects or decorating home.

Description
A range of geometric containers built around a 60mm circular footprint. The edges of the bottom container and lid are cast with chamfered edges creating the simplest of engagements between the two parts. The interior and exterior of the container has a soft, smooth shape, which contrasts with the cold hard metal. We achieve this using an intensive, hands-on process. We plate and hand-polish the exterior twice, while hand-finishing the inner surface four times at a low temperature with stove enamel paint. Seemingly ordinary, we create this container using an extraordinary process. Not only for storing objects, Geode can also hold life’s memories.
